- Name = MBDF Virus Warning2-92
- Path = AMUG CD:Files:MUG News:MBDF Virus Warning2-92
- Size: 4K Date: 2/23/92 Version:
- Description:
- A new Macintosh virus has been found. Some files recently uploaded to
- the Info-Mac archives at sumex-aim were infected. The files that we know
- about are "game/obnoxious-tetris.hqx" and "game/ten-tile-puzzle.hqx". This
- is the first time that a virus has ever been found in the sumex archives
- (to my knowledge)The virus was found quickly due to some integrity-checking
- code in Claris applications. If you have a Claris application and are
- infected, the application may refuse to run, warning of a modification.
- Claris deserves praise for taking this defensive stance with regards to
- viruses.

- Size: 6K Date: 2/23/92 Version:
- Description:
- MBDF Virus info - The MBDF virus was discovered in Wales. Several popular
- Internet archive sites contained some infected games for a short period of
- time, so a number of people around the world were affected. The games were
- named "10 Tile Puzzle" and "Obnoxious Tetris." In addition to these two
- games, a third game named "Tetricycle" or "tetris-rotating" was a Trojan
- horse which installed the virus. Download for info on Disinfectant 2.6 fix.
